Posted on the Sound of Young America I found a clip of Brent Weinbach's Conan appearance. I went digging for more of his work and found a gem called "Soft Pianist." While I've been working Squish Brain, I've kept my eyes glued to keystone inspirations, and this man is now a keystone, and my eyes have become one with him. He's my new comedy fav. I need this man's face on an oversized button, so that I can wear it around town. But it needs to be a button the size of my face. Then I'll get a nose ring, and use my new found nose hole to pin my "Weinbach Face" button to my own face. That's a badass plan! I think I just pushed fandom past the creepy point and back to love again.

I found this documentary video on Chad VanGaalen on Booooooom c/0 Lifetime Collective. I'm down with Boooooom's curatorship. It's so bullshit, (meaning I like it so much, so much, that it is not good enough to say "great," or "fantastic," I need to call it bullshit, just to shock you, just to let you know how much I love it). I'm also down with VanGaalen. He's been a "note" on my inspiration board throughout the writing of Squish Brain.

Will Forte's Dream State

A wonderful man named James Braithwaite asked me to help him invent a Will Forte dream. Braithwaite and I dug into experimenting with documentary and animation once again; this an ongoing obsession, and this mode of working is finding new form in the "Squish Brain" short film script that I'm currently re-writing.

We made this for the absolute love of Will Forte, but particularly at the delightful request of the Sundance Channel and Option-G. The full Dream States series can be watched here. My faves are the Questlove and Sebastian Junger clips.
